God’s supreme purpose for prayer is to glorify Himself. Contrary to most teaching, true prayer, like true worship, centers on God’s glory, not on man’s needs. Prayer is an opportunity for God to manifest His goodness and glory to us. It is not simply to lay claim on God’s promises, much less make demands of Him, but to acknowledge His sovereignty, to see the display of His glory, and to obey His will. True prayer focuses on His name, His kingdom, His will.
祷告最终的目的是荣耀神。真实的祷告就像真正的敬拜一样，是以神的荣耀为中心，而不是人的需求为主。祷告是求神彰显祂对我们的恩典和荣耀的途径。祷告并不是只求神应允祂所下的应许，更不是强求神，而是承认祂的主权，仰望祂的荣耀和顺服祂的旨意的方式。祈祷的真实焦点是神的名、祂的国和祂的旨意。
- His Name 祂的名 (6:9)
God’s name is more than His titles. It represents all that He is – His character, His plan, and His will. Praying is not to be a casual routine that gives passing homage to God, but should open up great heights of reverence, awe, appreciation, honor, and adoration. This is personal worship.
神的名不单单是个称号。它代表了神的一切，即祂的本性、计划和旨意。我们不能把祷告看作是例行公事向上帝的致意；祷告当开启敬畏、感恩、尊贵和崇拜的心。这是个人的敬拜。
- His Kingdom 祂的国 (6:10a)
The King is inseparable from His kingdom. To pray “your kingdom come” is to pray for Christ to come and reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.
王与国是无可分割的。祈求“愿你的国降临”是要基督前来统治，作为万王之王，万主之主。
- His Will 祂的旨意 (6:10b)
Our prayer should be that God’s will be done on earth as it is done in heaven. That is – for God’s will to be done willingly, readily, fervently, unwaveringly, completely and sincerely. Our prayer should be that every person and thing on earth be brought into conformity with God’s perfect will.
我们的祷告是要神的旨意行在地上，如同行在天上。这指的是愿人以真诚、热切、坚定和全然的心完成神的旨意。我们的祷告应当是愿世上所有的人和物都按着神完美的旨意而行。

- ‘Hallowed’ is an archaic English word which means to make holy. To hallow God’s name is to revere, honor and glorify Him. Are you revering, honoring, and glorifying God? Please respond to Him in prayer.
愿人都尊你的名为圣，其“圣”之意就分别为圣，也就是神的名当是人人都尊崇、敬重和荣耀的。你是否尊崇、敬重并荣耀神呢？请在祷告中回应神。
- Are your prayers frequently focused on your needs, your plans or your aspirations? How self-centered are these prayers! Do you pray, “your kingdom come”? Do you desire to see Jesus come to reign as king?
你的祷告是否以你的需求、你的计划和你的愿望为主呢？这种祷告实在是以自我为中心啊！你有求神的国降临呢？你是否渴望耶稣再来统治作王？
- Are you doing God’s will willingly, readily, fervently, unwaveringly, completely, and sincerely? Please respond to God in prayer.
