Matthew 马太福音 8:18-22 — The Cost of Discipleship 作门徒的代价

Throughout history, many people have marveled at Jesus, praising His authority, wisdom, power, healing, and even His deity. They find Jesus appealing and desire to associate themselves with him, yet they are unwillingly to submit to Him as Lord. Here, through these two examples, Jesus shows us what keeps men from becoming genuine disciples of Jesus Christ.

纵观历史,有许多人觉得耶稣很了不起;他们赞扬祂的权柄、智慧、全能、医治,甚至祂的神性。他们被耶稣吸引并希望能与耶稣结交,却不愿服从耶稣为生命的主。耶稣在这里借着两个人,让我们知道作主耶稣真门徒所要付出的代价。

 

  1. Comfort 享乐 (8:18-20)

To some, personal comfort is everything. Here, Jesus mentions some requirements of true discipleship (self-denial, sacrifice and the prospect of suffering), all of which were unexpected to the scribe. He simply disappeared without a word.

对一些人而言,人生的享受就是一切。当耶稣提出作真门徒的要求包括否决自我、牺牲、甚至需要受苦的时候,那文士再也没回应,马上消失在人群中,因这代价是他从未考虑过的。

 

  1. Cash 钱财 (8:21-22)

In this context, it doesn’t mean that the man’s father had just passed away. The phrase ‘I must bury my father’ was a common Near Eastern figure of speech that referred to a son’s responsibility to help his father in the family business until the father died and the inheritance was distributed. This man, who asked to first bury his father, did not want to risk losing his personal prosperity and well-being by becoming Jesus’ disciple.

  1. Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for you, what do you sacrifice for Him? Pray that we do not take his salvation lightly.

  1. Is personal comfort very important to you? Do you make a little sacrifice every day to set aside time to read the Bible, mediate on the Bible and commit time to prayer? Are you willing to sacrifice – if you call that a sacrifice – for Him?

  1. Do material possessions like cash, car or career hinder you from following Christ? Examine yourself and your response to God.

Matthew 马太福音 8:5-13 — Jesus Heals the Gentile’s Servant 耶稣医治外邦人

Faith is important but faith in itself is useless. Faith does not heal, Jesus does. We should not have faith in our faith, but have faith that is grounded in Jesus. The emphasis in this passage is not so much on the centurion’s “great faith” but his faith in Jesus. Jesus considers the centurion’s faith to be exemplary and warns the people of Israel for their lack of faith.

信心固然重要,但信心本身是没有价值的。信心不能医治人,医治人的是耶稣。我们不应该把信心建立在信心上,乃坚立在耶稣里。这里要强调的并非百夫长有“多么大的信心”,而是他对耶稣的信心。主耶稣将百夫长的信心视为典范,也因此斥责缺乏信心的以色列人。

 

  1. Jesus’ Compassion 耶稣的怜悯 (8:5-7)

When a centurion came appealing to Jesus to save his servant, He said, “I will come and heal him“. In the Greek, the emphasis was that Jesus would personally go to his house to heal the servant. Jesus is full of compassion for him.

当百夫长恳求耶稣拯救他的仆人时,耶稣说:“我去医治他。”在圣经原文的文法中,主耶稣强调他本人要亲自去百夫长的家医治他的仆人。可见,主耶稣满有怜悯。

 

  1. Jesus’ Comments 耶稣的评价 (8:8-12)

The centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed.” Jesus marveled, “No one in Israel have I found such faith.” The centurion’s faith is indeed great. He believes Jesus’ word is powerful and that He can heal without being physical present to heal.

当百夫长回答说:“主阿,你到我舍下,我不敢当;只要你说一句话,我的仆人就必好了。”耶稣听见就稀奇:“这么大的信心,就是在以色列中,我也没有遇见过。”没错,百夫长的信心确实很大,因为他相信耶稣的话是满有能力的;就算耶稣不在现场,祂也能医治那位仆人。

 

  1. Jesus’ Command – “Go” 耶稣的命令 (8:13).

Jesus then issued a command “Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed,” and the servant was healed the very moment Jesus spoke. Jesus’ power and authority is beyond question.

耶稣随后命令道:“你回去罢!照你的信心,给你成全了。”那时,他的仆人就好了。耶稣的全能和权柄是毋庸置疑的。

  1. The centurion was a good boss. He cared for his servants. He did not send others to seek Jesus but went in person. Are you willing to personally seek Jesus when you or those in your charge need help?

百夫长是一位好上司。他关心他的仆人,也没指派别人去见耶稣,而是亲自到来。当你或你的下属需要帮助时,你愿意亲自寻求耶稣吗?

 

  1. The humility of the centurion was made clear when he said, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof” (Mat 8:8). Do you come to God with humility? Pray that we truly understand the need to humble ourselves and worship Him.

当百夫长说:“主阿,你到我舍下,我不敢当” (太8:8)时,这就显明了他的谦卑之心。你是否谦卑地来寻求神呢?请祈求主让我们能够真正了解我们需要谦卑自己来敬拜神。

 

  1. The centurion understands the meaning of true authority. “When I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it” (Mat 8:9). Do you understand Jesus’ authority demands our full obedience? Do you obey Jesus?
百夫长明白权柄的意义。当他说:“去!”仆人就去;当他对另一个说:“来!”仆人就来;当他对仆人说:“你做这事!”他就去做(太8:9)。你是否明白我们需要全然服从主耶稣的权柄?你是否顺服主耶稣?
 
 
 
 
 


Matthew 马太福音 8:1-4 — Jesus Heals the Leper 耶稣医治麻风病人

The miracles and signs testified to Jesus’ Messiah-ship (Act 2:22). It is therefore no surprise that the first miracle recorded in Matthew shows us Jesus’ power over the most feared and the deadliest incurable disease during that time: leprosy. There is much we can say about the leper, but let us focus on Jesus. Jesus’ healing is physical, emotional and spiritual. In another word Jesus’ healing is total and complete.

圣经里的神迹奇事是要见证主耶稣就是弥赛亚(徒2:22)。因此,《马太福音》所展示的第一组奇迹就是要让我们对耶稣医治的大能惊叹屈膝。祂医治了当时最可怕、最致命的不治之症:麻风病。至于那患麻风病的人,我们虽不知详细情况,但让我们把注意力集中在主耶稣身上。耶稣对这个麻疯病人的医治是属身、心和灵的治愈。换句话说,耶稣的医治是完全和彻底的。

 

  1. Physically Healing 身体的医治 (8:1-3)

When the leper came to Jesus saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” Jesus said, “I will.” And immediately his leprosy was completely cleansed (Mat 8:3).

当那麻风病的来到耶稣面前说:“主若肯,必能叫我洁净了,”耶稣回答:“我肯。” 那麻风病的立刻就被医治好了,洁净了。

 

  1. Emotional Healing 心里的医治 (8:3)

Leprosy was considered unclean in Old Testament times. Lepers were outcasts and were forced to isolate themselves to avoid contact with others. They had to wear torn clothes and unkempt hair and cry out to people, “Unclean!” (Lev 13:44-46). Despite this, Jesus stretched out and touched him. It must have been great emotional comfort for the leper since he had not been touched by anyone.

在旧约里,麻风病被视为是不洁净的,因此麻疯病患都受到社会的排斥,被迫孤立,不得和他人接触。他们须穿着破衣服、披头散发并向人喊道:“不洁!不洁!”(利13:46)。他们相当于“活”死人。尽管如此,耶稣伸手摸了他。这对麻风病的人来说一定是激动人心的一刻,因为从来没有人会这样触摸他们。

 

  1. Spiritual Healing 灵里的医治 (8:4)

Jesus told the leper to show himself to the priest and offer “the gift that Moses commanded” meaning he was to bring the required guilt, sin, and grain offerings (see Lev 14:4-7). This represented full restoration between him and God as well as with society.

耶稣对他说只要去把自己给祭司看,并且献上摩西所吩咐的祭物,也就是赎愆祭、赎罪祭和素祭(利14:4-7)。这表示他和神之间,以及他与社会全面恢复关系了。

  1. The Leper came to Jesus without demand but humbled himself saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” Do we approach God with humility, trusting Jesus’ power can heal you?

麻疯病人来到耶稣面前毫无要求,只是谦卑地说:“主若肯,必能叫我洁净了。”我们是否也谦卑地来到神面前,并相信耶稣有医治自己的能力呢?

 

  1. Jesus’ response is not cold or clinical. Instead, he stretched out his hand to touch the leper. Jesus thought to not only heal him physically but also emotionally. Are we sensitive to the needs of the people around us? Do we provide emotional support for them?

耶稣的回应并不是冷淡的。相反的,祂伸出手去摸了麻风病人。耶稣不仅医治了他的身体,也治愈了他的心。我们是否对周围的人敏感,并给予精神上的支持呢?

 

  1. Jesus not only healed the leper but pointed him to God. We often want to solve our problems without looking to God. Pray that we will be sensitive not only to man but also to God.

Matthew 马太福音 8:1-15 — Jesus’ Authority over Sickness 耶稣战胜疾病的权柄

The Gospel of Matthew is about the King and His kingdom. It starts with Matthew showing us the genealogy of the King from David, the worship of the King by the magi, the commission of the King by the anointing of the Holy Spirit and the manifesto of the King in the Sermon of the Mount. Here, from chapter 8 – 9, Matthew shows us the proof of Jesus’ messiah-ship. There are a total nine miracles presented in three groups of three miracles each. The first three miracles are Jesus’ healing of the sick and the outcasts and it concludes with Isaiah’s prophecy, “This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: ‘He took our illnesses and bore our diseases’ (Matt 8:17). The healings are clear proof of Jesus’ messiah-ship.

《马太福音》的主题就是君王主耶稣和祂的国度。一开始,马太就告诉我们主耶稣的王室家谱、东方三博士予以君王的敬拜、君王受圣灵的恩膏以及君王在登山宝训中的宣言。现在,马太将在第8至9章阐明耶稣是弥赛亚的凭据。他以三个奇迹列为一组,共呈现了九个神迹。第一组展示了主耶稣医治病患与遭到社会遗弃的人,并以《以赛亚书》的预言总结说:“这是要应验先知以赛亚的话说:祂代替我们的软弱,担当我们的疾病”(太8:17)。这些医治是要证明耶稣就是弥赛亚。

Leprosy was a disease most feared in the ancient world. It was deadly and incurable yet Jesus cured the leper instantly. The Messiah’s authority is beyond doubt.

古时,麻风病是最致命、最可怕的不治之症,但耶稣只要一句话就治好了那患麻风病的。耶稣为弥赛亚的身份是毋庸置疑的。

 

  1. The Healing of the Gentile 外邦人的医治 (8:5-13)

The centurion was not only a Gentile but a Roman soldier, hated by the Jews. Yet Jesus healed his servant from afar. The Messiah’s mercy knows no ethnic boundaries.

百夫长不仅是一个外邦人,也是个被犹太人痛恨的罗马士兵。然而,耶稣从远处就能医治好他的仆人。耶稣的怜悯不但超越空间,也超越了种族的界限。

 

  1. The Healing of the Woman 妇女的医治 (8:14-15)

Jesus not only showed mercy to an outcast leper and a Gentile, but also compassion to a woman. The Messiah’s mercy is for all without exception.

  1. The author of Matthew takes special effort to paint the picture of a King. Do you see Jesus as King? Do you submit to Him as King?

  1. Chapters 8-9 of Matthew show the authority of Jesus over sickness (the first set of 3 miracles), over nature (second set of 3 miracles) and over the supernatural (last set of 3 miracles). The aim is to prove to us that Jesus is the Anointed Saviour. What will your response to the Saviour be?

  1. The first three miracles Jesus performed were on the outcasts and people despised by the society. What are your actions toward them? Consider if you’re as unreserved as Jesus was.

Matthew 马太福音 7:15-20 — Beware of False Prophets 防备假先知

After giving the invitation to “enter by the narrow gate,” Jesus warns about the false prophets who will oppose His teaching and lead people astray. Three things about false prophets we must learn.

耶稣命令我们“进入窄门”后,便给我们警告,告诫我们假先知将出现。他们将反对耶稣的教导,并且把人引入歧途。对于假先知,我们必须明白三件事。

 

  1. Caution 警告 (7:15-20)

Jesus said beware of false prophets. Simply being aware of the existence of false prophet is important. So many Christians are so gullible, they believe everything they hear. Jesus said the false prophets come in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. They look like Christians but they are spiritual beasts that pervert thinking and poison the soul, luring us onto the broad way that leads to death and hell. They are dangerous to God’s people and we should be alert and discerning.

耶稣说要防备假先知。就算信徒仅是晓得他们存在,那亦是重要的,因为许多信徒很容易上当,轻易相信他们所听到的一切。耶稣说假先知虽然披着羊皮,但里面却是残暴的狼。他们表面上像基督徒,实际上却是充满了扭曲的思想,会毒害灵魂,引诱我们到宽门大道之上,是叫人进入死亡和地狱的属灵恶兽。假先知对神的子民是危险的,我们应该持有警惕与辨别之心。

 

  1. Character 品格 (7:16-18)

Jesus said we will know them by their fruits. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Talk is cheap. Do they have actions to verify their talk? Do they bear fruit in keeping with their repentance (Matt 3:8)? A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. We will recognize them by their fruits. 

耶稣说凭着他们的果子,就可以认出他们来。好树不能结坏果子;坏树不能结好果子。空谈是容易的;他们的行为是否与他们所说的话相称?他们结出的果子是否与悔改的心相称(太3:8)?健康的树不能结坏果子,有病害的树也不能结好果子。凭着他们的果子,我们就可以认出他们来。

 

  1. Consequence 后果 (7:19)

Fire represents damnation. In fact John used a stronger term in Matt 5:12: “Unquenchable fire.” This is the description of burning Hell. False prophets will face the judgment of hell. So we need to be alert and avoid their destiny.

火代表诅咒。事实上,约翰在《马太福音》3章12节中使用了一个更强烈的词:那不灭的火。这就是对燃烧着的地之描述。假先知将要面对地狱的审判。因此,我们要提高警惕,免得自己也遭到同样的命运。

  1. Many false prophets command a great following, because most people do not want to hear the hard truths. They prefer to hear what is pleasant and flattering, even if it is deceptive and deadly. What about you? What is pleasing to your ears?

许多假先知会有庞大的拥护者,因为多数人都不想听到残酷的事实。尽管愉快、谄媚的事是致命的,他们就是爱听。你呢?你是不是喜欢听悦耳顺心的事呢?请祷告求神教导我们学习真道。

 

  1. We can know the false prophets by their fruits. So do we just listen to the most popular preachers on the planet or do we also observe the fruits in their lives? Let’s pray that we will not be deceived.

  1. We usually cannot detect false prophets by appearance. They may speak softly and act lovingly. But if we look deeper, we will find they do not teach the whole counsel of God. They pick and choose what they want to believe. Are you familiar with the whole counsel of God that you can detect false prophets?

Matthew 马太福音 7:13-14 — Two Gates and Two Destinations 两道门与两个目的地

This is the culmination on Jesus’ teaching on the Sermon of The Mount. In the earlier part, Jesus gave God’s holy and perfect standards of Christian living. These standards are diametrically (completely) opposed to the standard of the world. Here, Jesus issues the command to follow Him.

这段圣经是耶稣登山宝训的高潮。在这之前,耶稣让我们知道神的圣洁和基督徒生活的完美标准。这标准是与世界的标准完全相反的。宣告登上宝训后,耶稣召我们要跟随祂。

 

  1. Two Gates 两道门

The command here is not for us to ponder or admire but to enter. Many people admire the principles of the Sermon on the Mount but never follow them. Many respect and praise Jesus Christ but never receive Him as Lord and Savior. Because they never receive the King and never enter His kingdom, they are as much separated from both as is the rankest atheist or most unethical pagan. Jesus’ command is not simply to enter some gate but to enter the narrow gate. The kingdom is for those who come to the King in poverty of spirit, mourning over their sin, hungering for God’s righteousness (Matt. 5:3–4, 6).  Be sure that commonly held beliefs are not necessary the right beliefs.

  1. Two Destinations 两个目的地

Two gates lead to two directly opposed destinations. The broad gate leads to destruction, whereas only the narrow gate leads to life. Jesus did not ask us to choose. He commands us to enter the narrow gate which leads to heaven.

两道门最终的目的地是完全相反的。宽阔的门是引到灭亡之门;而只有窄门是引到永生之门。耶稣在此并没有要求我们做出选择;祂命令我们进入通往天堂的窄门。

  1. We are very much influenced by the culture around us. However, commonly held beliefs by the majority may not be right. In this case, they are downright wrong. Does public opinion dictate your life? Can you list them down and search and evaluate them in the light of Scripture?

  1. It is interesting that we always ask people to make a choice. But here Jesus did not ask us to choose. He commands us to enter the narrow gate. He commands us to obey him by putting the Sermon on The Mount in action. What about you? Do you understand the Sermon on The Mount? Do you act on it? Please list some actions you will put into practice today.

Matthew 马太福音 7:7-12 — Start Loving 开始去爱

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” (Mat 7:7). Many interpret this prayer devoid of its context. Why does Jesus talk about prayer here? The word “so” or “therefore” in Matt 7:12 gives us the clue. Jesus is instructing us to do to others what we want others to do to us. In another words, Jesus is giving us the reasons why we should love others as ourselves.

“你们祈求,就给你们;寻找,就寻见;叩门,就给你们开门” (太7:7)。许多人因断章取义而曲解这段祷告。为什么耶稣在这里谈论祷告呢?《马太福音》7章12节中的“所以”或“因此”为我们提供了线索。耶稣正在教导我们要以我们愿被对待的方式对待别人。换句话说,耶稣正在给予我们爱人如己的教导。

 

  1. God’s Promise 神的应许 (7:7-8)

God promises that we have access to His eternal and unlimited treasure to meet our needs as well as others. We have no fear of depleting the divine resources. So love one another without reservation.

神应许我们享用祂那永恒与无限的财富满足我们与他人的需要,因此我们无须担心自己会用尽神所供应的资源。所以,我们当毫无保留地彼此相爱。

 

  1. God’s Pattern 神的模式 (7:9-11)

If imperfect and sinful human fathers so willingly and freely give their children the basics of life, our perfect, merciful and gracious heavenly Father will infinitely outdo them in measure and in benefit. (Eph. 1:3, 7-8), so be confident in loving one another.

如果连不完美的父亲都乐意并无拘束地满足孩子生活上的基本物质需求,我们那完全、满有恩典和慈爱的天父的供应必然更多、更好(弗1:3,7-8)。所以,我们可以有信心彼此相爱。

 

  1. God’s Purpose 神的旨意 (7:12)

The perfect love of the heavenly Father will be reflected in the perfect love of his children. If we want God to treat us with loving generosity, we should also treat others the same way (Eph. 5:1-2). However, an unbeliever has no access to such divine resources that sustain a loving lifestyle.

当天父的孩子能待人如己,天父那完美的爱就能在他们的身上反映出来了。如果我们愿神以慷慨和慈爱待我们,我们也当以同样的方式待别人(弗5:1-2)。然而,一个不信主的人是没有这种属灵的资源来维持一个充满爱心的生活方式。

  1. Be careful not to read the Bible apart from its context. If you hear a man say a strange woman slept beside him, your mind might think of scandalous things, only to realize later that a woman slept in the seat beside him on a plane. Let’s pray that we rightly divide the Word of God.

  1. We, in our own capacity, cannot love unconditionally like God. If we are to love each other in the way God love us, we desperately need Him to empower us. Let’s pray for His empowerment to love one another.

我们凭着自己的能力是无法像神那么无私地爱人的。我们若要像神爱我们一样彼此相爱,就急需祂加添力量给我们。请向神祷告,恳求赐予我们祂的能力彼此相爱。

 

  1. 1 John 4:7-8 states, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” Let’s pray that we manifest God’s love among us.

Matthew 马太福音 7:1-6 — To Judge or Not to Judge 论断或不论断

We live in a postmodern pluralistic society. Many use Jesus’ teaching to tell us not to judge others.  Are they right? Paul asked, “Do you not know that you are to judge angels? How much more matters of this life?” (1Cor. 6:3). Jesus also instructed us, “Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment” (John 7:24). Scripture will never contradict itself. So are we to judge or not to judge?

我们生活在一个后现代的多元化社会。许多人利用耶稣的教导而告诉我们不能论断别人。他们是正确的吗?保罗问:“岂不知我们要审判天使么?何况今生的事呢!”(林前6:3)。耶稣也教导我们:“不可按外貌断定是非,总要按公平断定是非”(约7:24)。圣经的内容是不会有冲突的。那么,我们该不该做论断呢?

 

  1. We are not to judge 我们不当论断 (7:1-4)

Does v1 promise that if we do not judge others we will not be judged? Of course not, since everyone will be judged at the second coming of Christ. Log and speck in the eyes are metaphors that represent sins in our own life. The lesson: we are not to judge others if our sins are not dealt with.

第一节是否是指我们若不论断别人,自己也可免被论断或审判呢?当然不是,因为基督再来时,每个人都必须受到审判。眼中的刺和梁木代表的是我们生命里的罪。这里的教训是:如果我们还未处理自己的罪,就不可论断或断定他人了。

 

  1. We are to judge 我们应当论断 (7:5)

Jesus said we are to first take the log out of our own eye, and then take out the speck of our brothers’ eye. Clearly Jesus did not forbid us to judge.  The word judge (Krin̄o) means basically to determine, separate and choose. So the message is that we must first deal with our own sins before helping others to deal with theirs.

耶稣说,我们要先去掉自己眼中的梁木,然后才去掉弟兄眼中的刺。显然的,耶稣并没有禁止我们论断或断定别人。“论断”(Krin̄o)基本上指的是决定、区分和选择。所以这里说的是我们必须先处理自己的罪,然后才帮助别人处理他们的罪。

 

  1. We are to judge the right audience 我们当论断正确的对象 (7:6)

Dogs and pigs were classified as unclean. If a person remains unrepentant when presented with the gospel, we must not persist lest they bring insult to what is holy and turn to attack us.

在旧约里,狗和猪皆被列为不洁净的动物。如果一个人多次听了福音却仍不悔改,我们就无须不断地坚持,免得他们侮辱圣物,并转而攻击我们。

  1. Is our value system being influenced by the culture of the world or the Word of God? If our culture contradicts the Word of God what will you do?

我们的价值观是否受到世界文化的影响,或是受到神话语的影响呢?如果我们的文化与神的道是背道而驰的,你会怎么做呢?

 

  1. How often are we proud, arrogant and self-righteousness? We commit the same sin yet we point fingers at our own brothers and sisters. Let’s pray that we would confess and turn away from our sins first. Then – only then – can we help our brothers and sisters do the same for the glory of God.

我们经常都是骄傲、傲慢和自以为是的,不是吗?我们有多少次犯了同样的罪,却转而指责弟兄姐妹的罪。请祷告让我们能先承认并离弃自己的罪,才去帮助我们的弟兄姐妹对付他们的罪愆以荣耀神。

 

  1. In the same token, let’s focus on the testimony of the believers rather than going after the unbelievers and try to correct their sins. Correction without the Gospel of Christ is moralism. Let’s pray that we trust the life changing gospel rather than moralism.
同样的,让我们先关注自己身为信徒的见证,而不是执意想要纠正非信徒的罪。如果人未接受基督的福音而仅改正错误的外在行为,那只不过是道德上的改变。请祷告让我们相信那改变生命的福音,而不是道德主义。
 
 
 
 
 


Matthew 马太福音 7:21-29, Two kinds of Believers 两种信徒

Today many claim to be Christians yet they support abortion, homosexuality and a licentious lifestyle. They live a life that cannot be differentiated from the world. Are they Christians?

现今,许多人虽然自称是基督徒,却支持堕胎、同性恋和淫乱的行为。他们的生命与世俗的并没有两样。他们真的是基督徒吗?

 

  1. Two kinds of Believers 两种信徒 (7:21-23)

Many confess with their mouths, thinking they are believers. But Jesus said, “not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven” (Mat 7:21). Those who merely confess are not guaranteed of salvation but those who obey are. True believers bear fruit in keeping with their repentance (Matt 3:8). False believers claim to know God, but by their actions, deny him (Tit 1:16). Furthermore, many pursue charismatic gifts as a sign of spiritual piety and they say to Jesus, “did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?” (Matt 7:22). Jesus said to them, “I do not know you!” They are not Christians! True spiritual piety is manifest in their obedience to the Lord’s commands not miraculous signs and wonders.

很多人自称是基督徒,也以为自己是信徒。但耶稣说:“凡称呼我主阿,主阿的人,不能都进天国。惟独遵行我天父旨意的人,才能进去”(太7: 21)。惟独遵行天父旨意的人,才能确信自己的救恩;单凭口头承认是不足够的。我们虽是因信称义,但属实信徒必会结出与悔改之心相称的果子(太3: 8)。假信徒虽然声称他们认识神,但所行的却与神相背(提1:16)。此外,许多人追求属灵的恩赐,认为那是虔诚信仰的标志,并且会对耶稣说:“我们不是奉你的名传道,奉你的名赶鬼,奉你的名行许多异能么?”(太7:22)。耶稣将对他们说:“我不认识你!”他们不是基督徒!真正虔诚的信仰是体现在顺服神的表现,不是行神迹奇事的能力。

 

  1. Two kinds of men 两种人 (7:24-27)

The main focus of this parable is whether we ACT on Jesus’ words and, more specifically, on the Sermon on The Mount. We may have been listening to sermons all our lives, but if we do not act on it, then we are like the fool who builds his house on sand. James said faith without deeds is dead (Jam 2:26).

这个比喻重点是要召我们按耶稣的话去行,特别是登山宝训中所提到的教导。我们可能一辈子都在听道,但如果不采取行动,我们便像无知的人把房子盖在沙上了。雅各说,信心没有行为是死的(各2:26)。

  1. Today many define spiritual piety as those who prophesy, speak in tongues, perform miracles and drive out demons. Listen to what Jesus said, “I never knew you!” They are not Christians! Wherever they get the power, it is not from the Lord. Let’s pray that we will not be attracted to those who claim to perform miracles, but follow those who truly obey God’s commandments.

现今,许多人以为若能说方言、行神迹和赶鬼,就表明他们很虔诚。但耶稣说:“我从来不认识你们!”他们不是基督徒!无论他们是从哪里得来这些能力,这肯定不是从主来的。请向神祷告,叫我们不会被那些行神迹的人吸引,而是跟随那些真正遵守神诫命的人。

 

  1. Prophecy, tongues and miraculous signs are not evidences of their spirituality. In fact they are not even evidences of salvation. The most importance test to see if we are Christians is whether we obey the Bible. Let’s examine ourselves and pray to God we would obey all that is stipulated in the Bible.

预言、方言、行神迹并不是属灵人的凭据。事实上,这些都不是得救的证据。若要审查自己是否是基督徒,最重要的考验就在于我们是否服从圣经的教诲。请审查自己是否有顺从神的命令。

 

  1. Many of us have spent our lives in churches, listening to sermons. How many teachings have we actually put in practice? That is the key to this lesson. Let’s pray that we ACT on Jesus’ Word.

Matthew 马太福音 6:25-34 — Overcoming Anxiety 克服忧虑

According to statistics, 40 million adults have anxiety disorders and it affects an estimated 18% of U.S. population. Anxiety is an unsettled feeling toward the future and depression is an unsettled feeling toward the past. In this passage Jesus gives us the antidote to anxiety.

据统计,四千万的成年人患有忧虑症,而这影响约18%的美国人口。忧虑或焦虑是不安于未来,而忧郁或抑郁症是不安于过去。在这段经文中,耶稣给予我们对付忧虑的良药。

 

  1. Worrying is a sin issue 忧虑是罪 (6:25)

Worry is sin. Yes, this is a strong statement, but this command came from Jesus. To disobey Jesus’ command is a sin. Anxiety is no longer just a psychological or mental issue but a sin issue. Worry is the sin of disobedience to God’s command. If we focus on obeying the commands in the present we won’t be distracted into worrying about the future.

忧虑是罪。是的,这句话不堪入耳,但这是耶稣的命令。不顺服就是罪。因此,焦虑不再是一种心理或精神上的问题,而是罪。忧虑就是不顺服神的罪。如果我们此时此刻专注于顺服神的命令,就不会有时间为将来忧虑。

 

  1. Worrying is a faith issue 忧虑是无信心的表现 (6:26-33)

Jesus said, “O you of little faith!” The issue of worry is an issue of faith. If God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you? Worry is the sin of distrusting the promise and providence of God.

耶稣说:“你们这小信的人哪!” 可见忧虑的问题亦是信心的问题。如果连野地里的草今天还在,明天就被丢进火炉里,神也尚且这样妆饰它,更何况是对我们呢?忧虑是不信任神的承诺和眷顾的罪。

 

  1. Worrying is a heart issue 忧虑是心里的问题 (6:34)

We will not worry about things we do not love or care for. The fact that we worry about them shows where our hearts are. Our problem is that we love our material world so much that we are afraid to lose it. But Jesus said we should seek first the kingdom of God, not this material world. So worry is a heart issue: we love the world more than God.

我们是不会为自己不关心或不在乎的事情忧虑的。事实上,我们所担心的事就显明了我们心里到底爱什么。我们的问题在于自己太爱这物质世界了,以至于我们害怕失去它。但耶稣说,我们应该先寻求神的国和神的义,而不是这个物质的世界。所以,忧虑的问题涉及了我们的心,就是我们爱世界多过于爱神。

  1. Do you realize that worry is not a trivial sin? Doubting the perfect and almighty God is a serious sin. Confess your sin to God and learn to trust him rather than your own understanding.

你是否知道忧虑并不是个小罪?质疑那完美和全能的神是项严重的罪。请向神承认你的罪并学着去信任祂,而不是倚靠自己的聪明。

 

  1. Worry shows that we are mastered by our circumstances and by our own finite understanding of the situation rather than by God’s Word. Pray that God will help you understand His sovereignty, His wisdom and His goodness toward us.

忧虑表明我们被环境辖制了,而我们所用的是自己有限的知识去理解周围的环境,并非用神的话看待这一切。请向神祷告,求祂助你了解祂待我们的主权、智慧和美善。

 

  1. Worry is a heart issue. Is our heart with the world and pursuing the pleasure of the world? Our worry reveals our heart condition. Pray that you are not attracted to the temporal and materialistic world.
忧虑是个心病。我们的心是否停留在这世界,并追求这世界的享乐呢?忧虑反映了我们的心理状况。请向神祷告,叫你不会被这短暂的物质世界迷惑。
